Mr. Chavez is in the news more than dubbya these days. Hugo is politely informing President Bush that his visit to central and South America is pretty fruitless given the fact that there is an overwhelming anti-US feeling in the Americas these days. It is not surprising after myriad illegal invasions, support for barbaric militia and a total disregard for human rights in the region for the past 30 years or more. Like the muslims in the mid-east, there is only so much inhumanity a people can inflict on you before you fight back with your life. So Bush will fly to countries he has perhaps never heard of and meet many leaders whos names he cannot pronounce ~ but what is new? He is the retarded face of a retarded neo-con world view that is dying, and dying because of a few spoilers we affectionatly label insurgents. You have almost got to feel sorry for George as he is flown around a foreign continent with no sycophantic audience to rely on. Though his current tour of duty takes in some friendly(ish) countries, I dare he stop off to see Morales, Ortega, Bachelet and Correa in their repective 'hoods for a cosy chat about free market reform and privatised utilities. As witnessed by Chavez on his last visit, Bush will surely leave with his tail between his legs.
