It seems like another era. In 2000, the GOP nominated George W. Bush as their presidential candidate. Even then, I was confused about the choice. Here’s was a man who had bankrupted every business he was involved in, with exception of the Texas Rangers baseball team which the taxpayers of Arlington, Texas bailed out. He had two undistinguished terms as the governor of Texas, a mediocre scholastic record and his service with the Texas Air National Guard simply couldn’t be located. So why was this man nominated?

His last name was Bush; that made him a legacy.

Here was a man who otherwise wouldn’t have made it past the Iowa caucuses, but because of his biological linage he was the Republican nominee for President of the United States. When I mentioned my concerns to the Republicans I knew, they shrugged it off. I guess they thought since he was from “good stock”, he would somehow pull it off.

Now let’s look at 2007. Seven years of this man’s presidency, the United States is probably in the worst state of its history. No one individual has more damage to this country than George W. Bush. Or as he will be known on this blog henceforth as…JUNIOR!!!

How did I come up with that? Just think of a closely held family business. The father starts the business, builds it up and then one day, the first born son walks through the door. He has no interest in running the business, nor does he have any talent. But, despite all of this, he is given control of the business simply because he is the owner’s son. Quickly, anyone with any talent leaves because they know their careers’ are forever blocked. In the meantime, the son begins to run the business into the ground. One poor decision follows another until the company, on the brink of bankruptcy, is bought out by a competitor. The employees are kicked to the curb and the incompetent son gets a cushy job in the new company. The reason for his failure, as he sees it, is that the employees weren’t loyal, the competition was too tough, etc. He blames everyone but himself.

George W. Bush, the incompetent son who ran the family business into the ground…just call him Junior.

I agree with every character in your article but one surely has to give mention to the vast number of idiotic Americans that voted for him - twice. In many ways, he is a reflection of your archetypal American - ignorant, arrogant, brainwashed and self righteous.
