With Henry and Allen awaiting the decision on their custody battle for Paris Hilton, I wanted to reflect on what this means. I guess Paris has learned a valuable lesson about taking responsibility for one's actions and that there is a price for those actions. Benjamin Franklin once said, "Experience keeps a dear school, but fools will learn from no other"; I can hope that Ms. Hilton comes away from her experience in jail a better, not bitter, person.
It's a shame that Junior Bush didn't serve some time like Paris has at her age. Maybe after one of his DUI's, Poppy would have let him sit in jail for a couple of weeks. Or maybe if he had to face the music some of his other "youthful indescressions". Regardless of the outcome, this country would have a better person, though maybe a different person, in the White House.
